Tokyo City Lights

Known for its bright and colorful lights, we went the other side of town to see a different view of the Tokyo city lights. Different from what we see by our apartment window. We now have become comfortable riding trains. This trip took us to Odaiba beach. An artificial island in Tokyo Bay, across the Rainbow Bridge. Our plan is to explore the island, watch the sunset, see the bridge get lit from a restaurant by the boardwalk.

This must be the most scenic train ride we had thus far. We highly recommend taking the Yurikamome Line to site see the beautiful city.

As soon as you exit the train station, you are welcomed by this big park, no water to be seen anywhere at this. But what a welcome surprise to see that giant Ferris wheel, immersive art experience, mall that has Madame Tussauds, Legoland Discovery, everything for everyone. What caught my attention is the size of the park. The parking lot is empty 😮 I imagined during peak tourism, this place must get sooooo many visitors.

As soon as you walk across the bridge, you are treated to this magnificent view of the Tokyo highway. There are so many sportscar in Tokyo making their sounds heard 🙂 The city is filled with sky crapers, but in between buildings are common areas to play and enjoy some greeneries. Our intention was to watch the sunset, get to witness the lighting of the rainbow bridge. As luck would have it, that was a cloudy day, and the rainbow bridge was lit and was plain white 😀 Thanks to the giant ferriswheel and we get to experience a different view of the Tokyo City lights.
